According to a new survey that was conducted by Harris Interactive and commissioned by Move Inc., 44% of all homebuyers believe that the housing market will improve once the new President takes office in January, 2009. The survey indicates that the underlying demand for homeownership is healthy. 41% of current homeowners plan to purchase a home again, 80% of all renters plan to purchase a home someday with 47% of them planning to purchase a home within the next 5 years. 26% plan to move for space related reasons, 17% for life-stage change reason and 9% plan on downsizing to a smaller residence.
